We dreamed of opening a school that inspires curiosity, cultivates independence, and equips learners for a rapidly changing world. That dream came to life in August 2024 with the opening of Odyssey FM, an Acton Academy in Moorhead, Minnesota. As part of the global Acton Academy network, we embrace principles of learner-driven education: empowering young people to take ownership of their learning, solve real-world challenges, and discover their unique passions and gifts.
Acton Academy’s mission is clear: we aim to inspire every child who walks through our doors to find their calling and change the world. Highlights from Our First Few Months
Since opening our doors, Odyssey FM has seen strong growth in enrollment and an incredible start to project-based learning experiences. Our learners have already showcased their creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial spirit.
One standout event was our Children’s Business Fair, where our seven learners joined forces with seven learners from other schools. Together, they designed, marketed, and sold unique products to the community, demonstrating the real-world impact of their education. This hands-on experience not only strengthened their confidence but also reinforced the core values of problem-solving, responsibility, and innovation.
